China MEP Released the Inventory of Toxic Chemicals Restricted to Import/Export 2018

On 20 December 2017, China Ministry of Environmental Protection (MEP) announced the release of the Inventory of Toxic Chemicals Restricted to Import/Export 2018 to regulate the import and export of restricted toxic chemicals.

The announcement requires that enterprises importing/ exporting chemicals contained in the Inventory must apply for Toxic Chemicals Import (Export) Release Permit to handle import & export procedures.

Chemicals in the Inventory cover:

1. Chemicals under the control of Stockholm Convention on POPs and its amendments;
2. Chemicals under the control of Minamata Convention on Mercury; and
3. Chemicals under the control of Rotterdam Convention.

The announcement will take effect from 1 January 2018.
