New Cosmetic Ingredients in China | Six Ingredients Successfully Filed in August!

Based on data retrieved from China’s National Medical Products Administration (NMPA), six new cosmetic ingredients have successfully been filed between August 1 and August 11, 2025. Detailed information is provided in the table below. At present, the associated technical specifications have not been made public, and the ingredient has not yet entered the post-filing monitoring period.

Interpretation of Selected New Cosmetic Ingredients

According to available data, diacylglycerol (DAG) primarily consists of two structural isomers: 1,3-diacylglycerol and 1,2-diacylglycerol. Due to the presence of two long-chain fatty acids and one hydroxyl group in its molecular structure, diacylglycerol exhibits strong lipophilicity and a certain degree of hydrophilicity. At present, diacylglycerol is widely used in various fields such as food, pharmaceuticals, and chemical industries. In 2009, the former Ministry of Health of China approved diacylglycerol oil as a novel food ingredient (Announcement No. 18 of 2009).

Paeonia suffruticosa, commonly known as tree peony, is a deciduous shrub species belonging to the Paeoniaceae family and the Paeonia genus. In China, Luoyang in Henan Province and Heze in Shandong Province are the two largest cultivation bases for tree peony.

Paeonia suffruticosa Callus Extract is derived through advanced plant callus culture technology, which has enabled the breakthrough establishment of a long-term wild tree peony cell culture system, preserving the unique bioactive advantages of wild peony components. Furthermore, in vitro cellular studies have demonstrated that the active constituents in Paeonia suffruticosa callus extract exhibit anti-photoaging properties, elucidating its underlying mechanisms of action.

6'-Sialyllactose Sodium Salt (CAS No. 157574-76-0) is a carbohydrate compound classified as a derivative of sialic acid. It holds promising potential in areas such as cell recognition, immune regulation, and gut health.
