Indonesia Drafted a Regulation on Cosmetic Declaration Standards and Procedures

On December 10, 2024, Indonesia issued a proposal to establish regulations on declaration standards and procedures for cosmetics.

The main contents of the draft regulation include:

• definitions and terms;
• the scope of applicants for cosmetic declaration (Indonesian manufacturers/distributors of domestically produced cosmetic products and importers of imported cosmetic products);
• documents required for cosmetic declaration (such as free sale certificates and certificates of good manufacturing practice issued by authorized officials or accredited bodies of the country of origin, required for the declaration of imported cosmetic products from non-ASEAN countries);
• declaration procedures;
• declaration information filling templates;
• official online audit processes; and
• on-site inspection content.
